Orimattila x3

This summer I visited Orimattila at least three times. On the first visit I took my daughter to see Orimattilan Eläinpuisto, on the second time we went to check out the Megamyyntiareena (a large outlet center), touring back with a planned coffee breakt at the nicely decorated Mato & Makkara kiosk in Mallusjoki. Then my third visit to Orimattila was for checking out the great annual Mallusjoen Takinkääntöviikot event also this summer.

Takinkääntöviikko @ Mallusjoki

An interesting local event at Mallusjoen Seuraintalo that lasts for the whole week! Every night they have some bands playing live music, and offering beverages and bratwurst with tasty sauerkraut at an affordable price. I was there on Thursday night and it was a bit quiet - it felt as the place and amount of people was like "Nakukymppi times two", but most of the older people didn't seem to enjoy the music that much and left early. Or perhaps they were just loading batteries and getting ready to rock harder on Friday and Saturday nights.. ;)

Tönnö's historic bridge

The first road bridge in Finland built from reinforced concrete, completed in 1911.

Kotieläinpuisto @ Orimattila

Cows, chickens, sheep, goats, ducks, even peacocks - you name it, and this place probably hosts 'em all. The kid naturally enjoyed the visit, and luckily for grown-ups they'd also serve coffee or beer.
