Lahti Ski Games 2013

Let's skip a few smaller updates and fast forward a few months, shall we.. It was the perfect weather in Salpausselkä, for enjoying the Lahti Ski Games.

My Summer Tour of 2012: Day 3 (Lahti)

Late at night of Day 2 I had made my way back from Myllykoski to Mukkula camping.

The next morning was sunny, and Vesijärvi looked really beautiful. During the morning I managed to check out Neste Oil Rally 2012 start event site at Lahti Harbour. Then it was time to head back home to see my family.

Classic Motorshow 2011

It was fun checkin' out the old motors. Though, I think the event was a little bit better last year. Maybe it was a certain lack of "surprise elements", or because one of the main themes was American classics and it has been just two weeks from the American Car Show in Helsinki. Or maybe I'm just not that much into old cars after all.. Anyway, my son liked it (as much as a four-year old can concentrate to looking at static objects)..

On the way back we took the usual detour via Vesijärvi harbour, which was naturally crowded on a sunny spring day, looking as beautiful as ever. :)

Messilä

This ski center is located in Hollola, near Lahti. We had nice time there with my son, enjoying the fresh air and winter snow sports even up till the late evening.

Lahti Historic Rally 2010

Almost completely missed this event, even though had some plans to see it since wednesday night. Finally on saturday afternoon, at the "very last moment" we were there with my son to check out the parked rally cars (too bad we didn't see them in real action).. maybe next year then.

Had a really good time here during all the ~six hours spent on-site... next time I will bring my son along!

An eventful winter weekend

On Saturday, we went to Lahti to see a hockey game. I must say I'm proud of how well the kid managed in overall through three rounds, overtime and penalty shootout, though he's only 2-years old. Too bad my team eventually lost.

On Sunday we went to Sveitsi.. directly translated to English that place would be "Switzerland", but it's actually also name of a nearby skiing slope in Hyvinkää.

The scenery is very nice at the moment.

Along Salpausselkä

This weekend I took my son to the Finnish Railroad Musem, and then to Sveitsi in Hyvinkää.

On Sunday we drove to Lahti, to check the view from the ski jump tower. Then we headed for some play time in the Family Park (Perhepuisto) at Laune.

I think that Hyvinkää is kind of like mini-Lahti. Why didn't we move to there..
